about

WurlD (born Sadiq Onifade) is a Nigerian-American singer, songwriter, and producer known for crafting a genre-bending sound that fuses Afrobeat, electronic, soul, and alt-pop into what he calls Afro-Fusion. With a distinctive voice and sonic palette, WurlD continues to push musical boundaries while representing a globally minded African identity.

WurlD's evolving discography showcases his depth and versatility. From the emotionally rich "Love Is Contagious" to the collaborative brilliance of "I Love Girls With Trobul" with producer Sarz, and the sonically adventurous "My WorlD With U", he has carved a space that feels both futuristic and rooted. His 2023 EP, "Don’t Get Used To This", further displayed his range with raw, moody reflections on love and self.

He took the world by storm with his pen when he wrote the masterpiece “Blow My Mind” sang by Davido ft. Chris Brown in 2029. In January 2025, WurlD released the high-energy single “Outside” featuring Walshy Fire of Major Lazer, a vibrant Afro-Caribbean fusion that connected dance culture with introspective lyricism. The track set the tone for what’s shaping up to be one of his most impactful years yet.

Another marked milestone came in April 2025, when WurlD took the stage at Coachella, sharing the iconic Yuma Stage with Afro-House heavyweight AMÉMÉ. His performance added a deeply Afrocentric pulse to the electronic space and reaffirmed his position as one of the most dynamic live acts bridging continents and genres.

WurlD’s long-standing creative partnership with Sarz continues to shape the modern Afro-fusion landscape. After their breakout collaboration on I Love Girls With Trobul (2019), the duo reunited for new sonic explorations on Sarz’s 2025 album Protect Sarz At All Costs, where WurlD features on the standout track “Grateful” alongside the Ndlovu Youth Choir. The project showcases both artists’ evolution, merging electronic textures, Afro-soul melodies, and rich vocal harmonies into an expansive, globally resonant sound.

Now, WurlD steps into a new era with his upcoming album Metal Heart. Metal Heart showcases WurlD’s evolution which is bold, experimental, and deeply human, cementing his place as a global voice redefining global sounds by African-born Artists
